Dr. Marium Waqas
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO)
Dr. Marium Waqas, MBBS, MSPH, is a passionate and driven public health professional with over 20 years of experience spanning clinical care and public health. A graduate of Dow Medical College, Karachi, she is deeply committed to advancing women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights in Pakistan. Her work focuses on reproductive health through training, research, policy advocacy, and media engagement, with particular attention to family planning and post-abortion care. Widely recognized for her expertise in Values Clarification and Attitude Transformation (VCAT) and Providers as Advocates (PAA), Dr. Waqas is known for building strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including provincial Health and Population Welfare Departments in Sindh, Punjab and KP. She excels in leading high-impact health projects across diverse settings while maintaining rigorous quality standards. Currently, she serves as Secretary General of the National Committee for Maternal and Neonatal Health (NCMNH) and CEO of the Association for Mothers and Newborns (AMAN). Previously, she held senior advisory roles with Ipas and Palladium’s Health Policy Plus program, continuing her lifelong commitment to improving women’s health in challenging contexts
Dr. Humera Mansoor
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER (COO)
Dr. Humera Mansoor, an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist is a practicing clinician. She is a graduate of LUMHS. She has more than 10 years of experience in working for Clinical as well as public health. She is enthusiastic about providing public health and health services to improve Maternal and Neonatal health and reduce Maternal & Neonatal morbidity and mortality. At present she is working as the Chief Operating Officer at Association for Mothers and Newborns (AMAN). She also works as a Clinical Associate at New Beginnings Hospital. She is also a life member of Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Pakistan (SOGP) and Facilitator of many trainings from the platform of National Committee for Maternal and Neonatal Health (NCMNH) and AMAN. With these two organizations she is working on many initiatives and projects to improve the health and other indicators through family planning. She has facilitated many training courses for different other organizations in which GSSM, DKT, MSS, Ipas, WHO, Population Council and Willow’s foundation are on top of the list. She has facilitated training on Post Pregnancy Family planning (including PPIUCD, Implant and Emergency contraception), Neonatal Resuscitation in Helping Babies Breath, Postabortion Care (Manual vacuum Aspiration & Misoprostol), Values Clarification and Attitude Transformation (VCAT), Essential and Emergency obstetrical care, Labor Care Guide, Adult CPR and Infection prevention in different cities all over the country. She is also trained as a trainer for Protection against Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) by UNICEF and for Postabortion Care and Contraception by Ipas in Nepal, 2024. She has been a Reviewer of Verbal Autopsy Questionnaires conducted for Pakistan Maternal Mortality survey 2019. For this activity, she was trained and authorized to provide WHO ICD-10 coding for the Pakistan Maternal Mortality Survey Questionnaires.
Aslam Siddiq, an ICAEW member and finance professional, serves as CFO and EXTreasurer of the Association of Mothers and Newborns (AMAN), where he supports the organization’s mission to improve the health and wellbeing of mothers and newborns through strong financial stewardship and sustainable growth.

Aslam Siddiq, an ICAEW member and finance professional, serves as CFO and EXTreasurer of the Association of Mothers and Newborns (AMAN), where he supports the organization’s mission to improve the health and wellbeing of mothers and newborns through strong financial stewardship and sustainable growth.
Dr. Yasmin Soomro
MANAGER OPERATIONS
Dr. Yasmin Soomro A medical graduate of Sindh Medical College, Karachi, with over 15 years of experience in maternal and neonatal health programs. Affiliated with the National Committee for Maternal and Neonatal Health (NCMNH) since 2007, with expertise in training coordination, operations, and organizational development. Has facilitated clinical and capacity-building trainings, contributed to national maternal mortality research, and supported reproductive health telemedicine initiatives during COVID-19. Currently serves as Manager Operations at the Association for Mothers and Newborns (AMAN).
Mirza Umair Baig
IT MANAGER
Mirza Umair Baig, MS is the IT Manager at AMAN, bringing extensive expertise in network defense and cyber operations. He holds multiple Microsoft certifications, including MCSA, MCSE, and MCTS, and has strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure. His skill set covers Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, and advanced IT infrastructure management, reflecting a solid command of modern, cutting-edge technology and enterprise IT solutions.

Komal Khalid is a seasoned development sector professional with over a decade of experience working with underserved communities, including women, religious and gender minorities, and people with disabilities. At AMAN, she applies her background in gender and social inclusion to maternal, newborn, and child health, advancing equitable access to health services and outcomes. Her work emphasizes inclusive program design grounded in strong partnerships, with attention to social and environmental sustainability, ensuring that public health interventions are effective, responsible, and built to last.
