Bakhabar Noujawan
A Scalable Digital Platform for Health Literacy and Informed Decision-Making
Young people make decisions that shape their health, relationships, and future long before they enter the healthcare system. Yet access to reliable, evidence-based information remains limited. Bakhabar Noujawan was created to bridge this gap by providing trusted, culturally appropriate digital learning that empowers young people to make informed decisions with confidence.
With endorsement from the Federal Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, Bakhabar Noujawan has gained national recognition as an innovative approach to strengthening health literacy among young people. Created by AMAN in partnership with the National Committee for Maternal and Neonatal Health (NCMNH), the platform provides self-paced digital learning designed for young people aged 15–29. It delivers evidence-based education on reproductive health including family planning, relationships, consent, and essential life skills through a private, accessible, and user-friendly online experience. Its content has also been reviewed by educators from universities around the world. By enabling individuals and couples to learn independently and without stigma, the platform removes many of the barriers that have traditionally limited access to trusted health information.
Designed for scale, the platform combines structured learning with assessments, completion tracking, and on-demand certification, making it suitable for implementation across diverse settings. With all modules available in English and Urdu, Bakhabar Noujawan continues to expand through additional regional language adaptation and new delivery approaches, improving access to reliable health information for more young people across Pakistan.
Bakhabar Noujawan has also been presented at the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) World Congress, reflecting its growing recognition beyond Pakistan. The platform continues to evolve through strategic partnerships, stakeholder engagement, and national technical forums, supporting wider conversations on digital learning, reproductive health, and informed decision-making. It has also been presented at national forums, including the FP2030 Working Group, highlighting its potential to strengthen health literacy through scalable digital innovation.
As the first step in AMAN’s Lifecycle Approach, Bakhabar Noujawan reflects the organisation’s commitment to equipping young people with knowledge before critical life decisions are made. More than a digital course, it is a scalable national platform that is advancing health literacy, strengthening informed decision-making, and creating opportunities for healthier individuals, stronger families, and more informed communities across Pakistan.
